Baranette's was wonderful!!!I found the perfect dress here and they were so accommodating with my schedule to do the alterations and made me feel like a million bucks every time I went in! They also packed my dress very nicely as they knew I would be traveling with it so I knew it would be okay during the ride. Thank you!!!

I have to say I was in several of my friends weddings this past year and we got our tuxedos from your typical men’s store. I won’t mention the name, the service was ok. Then one of my friends decided on Baranette’s. At first I thought it was strange going to a bridal shop. Once I was there all the women were so nice and friendly. Everything fit so perfect that was the first time that has ever happened for me. So when I got married I had to use Baranette’s and again all was perfect. I can’t say enough about the women at Baranette’s. I tell all my friends that this is the place to go.

OMG Baranette’s is the best! I went to several other places first. I was so confused and so disappointed. I walked into Baranette’s and was so wowed by the look of the store and couldn’t believe how clean and pretty it was compared to all the other stores I was at. My mom and I were greeted by the owner Dawn super nice! She walked us over to meet Marie our consultant also super nice! Marie asked me a little bit about what I was looking for. She immediately picked out several gowns for me to try on. Needless to say I found the gown of my dreams “silk with beautiful lace and beading” along with my veil, headpiece and jewelry. We spent much less then I originally was expecting to pay. My dress came in and all my fitting were perfect. I was always greeted by name by everyone in the store. Were do you get this kind of service anymore? I felt like I was family. My mom and bridesmaids also got their dresses here and they all loved everyone at the store. Don’t waste your time by going anywhere else

We used Baranette's bridal for the men's tux's and had a very bad experience with them. We originally went through Men's Warehouse since we had a few groomsmen from out of town, but we were very unable with their selection. Baranette's said they can handle groomsmen from out of town and that they would just have to fax their measurements into the shop. They do have a very wide selection of tux's in different colors and styles. Like the below review, the beginning of our experience with the shop was very good and we left happy until the week before our wedding. The shop called and said that the tux's are ready and that they can be picked up Wednesday afternoon.
The first major problem we had was that the shop is closed on Fridays and we had two groomsmen that weren't going to be in-town until Friday morning. I don't know how they can be closed the day before the most popular wedding day of the week?!?! Why not be closed on Monday's and Tuesday's? So my husband picked up the tux's for the two groomsmen on Thursday and if there was anything wrong with the tux's, they had to leave a message on their voicemail and go in on Saturday morning (the day of the wedding!) and get the tux's altered. Which leads me to the next big problem we had!
All of the measurements Dawn, the owner, took were wrong! The two groomsmen that got measured elsewhere in Florida, their tuxs fit perfectly and didn't need to be altered one bit! As for my father, my father in law, my husband, and my brother all had to have something fixed which you had to fight to get them to fix. My father in law's pants were way too big and the tailor told them that they were fine even though he was stepping on his pant legs! I was soooo pissed when I saw my husband the day of our wedding and his sleeves were almost touching his fingers and he couldn't take his jacket off at the reception because the vest wasn't tailored correctly. My brother was one of the groomsmen that couldn't make it in town until Friday morning and his shirt sleeves were so long that he had to fold them over a few times so they wouldn't peak out underneath the jacket (this was after he took it to the shop on Saturday morning). The shop also provided the wrong pocket square to one of the groomsmen and the wrong size shoes. They had a new pocket square shipped, but it was the wrong color!
Also, one of the groomsmen only put a deposit down when he ordered his tux so when he picked up the tux he had to pay the rest of the amount owed with cash. They do not accept credit cards when paying the rest of the amount owed, which seems a little fishy to me. When asked why, they couldn't give me a straight answer.
My father has been the spokesmen for all the men in the bridal party and has been trying to get some money back since they all paid almost $200 for their tuxs and nothing was right! Dawn has not been helpful or willing to give some money back as she thinks nothing was wrong! Now, I am not a professional tailor nor do I know anything about tuxs, but we had two groomsmen that got measured somewhere else and their tuxs fit perfectly while everyone else that got measured at Baranette's had nothing fitting them which proves that Dawn made the mistake, not us! She is also not willing to refund the payment of $10 to the groomsmen that was given the wrong pocket square (both times). She stated that he had it on the wrong side, but it’s the same color on both sides! We are at the point of filing a grievance with our credit cards as that shop does not deserve full payment and are not willing to speak with us regarding the issue we had.
From reading the below review and the experience we had with the shop, they are very helpful when trying to sell you something, but not helpful after the you have bought something from them. They are more interested in the sale than the customer satisfaction.
My suggestion: Do not use Baranette's bridal for tux's!

This is the first time I have taken a bride to Baranette's Bridal but it won't be the last. They have a great selection of dresses in all price ranges. The service is personal and they do not hard sell. My bride got the dress of her dreams and the seamstress is top notch.
Thank you for making it easy.

What began as one of the happiest purchases I ever made was completely ruined by the lack of professionalism of the owner, Dawn. The saleswoman who first assisted me was wonderful and kind, sold me the dress which was a clearance, sample dress and told me it would be cleaned and beading, buttons, etc fixed. Nothing was said at the time about the cost of alterations which didn't look like they would be much since it was almost a perfect fit. I was just told to call in 3 weeks to make an appointment for it.
I arrived for my fitting of my $100 clearance dress, the very nice seamstress, Elihna, began to pin it but then we spoke about cleaning and possible shrinkage. Next thing I knew, a phone was pressed to my ear with Donna the owner screaming about how they don't do that & wanting to know which salesperson told me that. With no apologies to me, I was then told by the owner and saleswoman that the dress hundreds of other women had tried on, would not be cleaned, despite them having told me otherwise when I bought it.
Trying to shake it off and still enjoy what was supposed to be a fun day, the seamstress and I completed the fitting and I went to the desk where I was told to come back in a week and it should be done. I was then told "You do know it's $325 for alterations, right?". I suppose I would have known if they had it posted anywhere, had mentioned it when I bought the dress or had the information on the receipt where I looked for it after buying the dress.
So now I had a dress that was missing beading, had been worn hundreds of times and had no idea what it would actually look like when they got done with their false promises.
In the end, I'd have been far better off buying one of many dresses I'd seen elsewhere, even for a bit more then going through this nightmare.
It amazed that throughout this entire thing, Donna never once offered an apology of any kind. It truly ruined the entire dress shopping experience for me to the point where I do feel like going and buying a different dress elsewhere.
The best part was right before this, I made the mistake of actually referring a friend there who's having all of her bridesmaids dresses purchased there now.
You're so very welcome Donna.
I really don't understand why you have to deceive your customers just to get by but it's truly disgraceful.

Love that this place is right around the corner from my house.... they just moved into a fabulous new space. The have a great selection of gowns and a super friendly staff. My mom got her MOB dress here during their moving sale for $40!!! it was a sample bridesmaid dress that looked spectacular on her. This was one of the first places I looked and wedding gowns and had I not found My Dress in a different shop my #2 pick was there.

I walked into Baranette's on a whim looking for a dress I saw in a magazine, and showed up without an appointment. The staff was accommodating and had no issue assisting me despite not being on the schedule. To my delight they had my dress, in the rare pink color I was seeking, and was able to try it on right away. The dress came in around 5-6 months later and was perfect. After stepping in a few other bridal salons for laughs, I am so happy I found Baranette's!!!

I purchased my wedding dress here for my April 2010 wedding. I actually purchased the first dress I tried on, after trying on about 15 others ;)
The staff were very easy to work with and during my initial visit they gave me plenty of time to walk around in the dresses, discuss different options, and work out what I liked/didn't like about each dress.
I lived out of town (3 1/2 hours out of town!) so making my follow up appointments seemed like it would have been an issue, they only do dress fittings at certain times. But the staff were very understanding that I was either leaving very early in the morning or I would have to travel after work (through DC/Baltimore rush hour!) to come to the fitting and they made several exceptions with these appointments. I did feel a bit rushed through my fittings. While the seamstress was very good, she wasn't too detail oriented and she didn't make me feel like she was paying every bit of attention to my requests. At my second fitting I had to remind her that there were 3 things we had discussed at the first fitting that she still hadn't completed, I thought that was the point of another fitting?! It wasn't until the third fitting when one of the items that had been discussed all along still wasn't complete and I spoke with the manager that I felt it would be completed by the time I picked up my dress. All in all, the dress fit like a glove, everyone cried when they saw me in it (including my fiance!) and I was very pleased with the overall experience at Baranette's.

While I was nervous about dress shopping after all the horror stories you read mixed in the reviews, I was pleasantly surprised by the kindness and helpfulness of the girls at Baranette's. When the store was moving to a nearby location to expand, I received snail mail, an email, and a personal call to ensure I was aware of the move. The fittings went smoothly. The seamstress was always timely and professional and most importantly the dress came out beautiful!

The designer is top notch and the dress was beyond my dreams. I could not believe how stunning everything looked. I placed the order and very soon I had everything delivered to me.My parents helped out each of my bridesmaids by paying for a portion of their dress and they were so thankful - a great idea for anyone choosing a more expensive gown.

I thought Baranette's was a wonderful bridal shop. And, they just moved into even better space! They have an excellent array of dresses. I wanted a dress that was less "poufy" than what I found at most shops, and Baranette's had the best selection of thinner-silhouette dresses that I found anywhere. They're also one of the few shops in the area that carries the Essense of Australia line, which, I found out when I got to the store, fit my style very well.
My dress needed a couple inches taken in at the waist--which I knew was going to be the case--because my hip measurements fell right at the border with sizing, and I decided it was better the err on the side of too big (which is easy to fix) than too small (which would've involved me looking like a sausage in my dress), and their seamstress did a fabulous job of making my dress fit like a glove. (And, it didn't have a corset back) and you couldn't tell that about 3 inches were taken in for the waist. She also did an amazing job with the bustle--I had an 11 point french bustle that oh-so-elegantly sweeped the floor. Loved it.
That said, the flat-rate alterations may have been a bit expensive had the dress come back fitting perfectly and just needed a hem & a bustle. But, the girls there are great and it feels like a good, old-fashioned bridal shop. Very little pressure, good follow-up (including a thank you card), and personal attention. I would definitely recommend it to others!
Oh, and they let me try on as many dresses as I wanted! I was actually planning on getting my dress someplace else, but when I went for my second appointment (I was really impressed with them at my first visit--which was just to get a taste for the whole process--I wasn't ready to commit to anything), I had gone through and picked out dresses, but was told that I could only try on 6 per appointment. And, they had just had a sample sale, had my information on file, but didn't bother to notify me. So, I was really happy when I went to Baranette's and they were willing to spend the time with me to help me find "The Dress."
Only downside is they don't let you take pictures....

Dawn and Kim and all the other girls at Baranette's were great. I got my wedding dress and my 5 bridesmaids dresses there. Everything was in before expected and they were so flexible with pick up dates and fittings. I also found them to be very reasonably priced for not only the dresses but alterations as well. After a few times of going there, it was like you knew them and it was fun to go there! I would definitely recommend them to anyone that needed to look for dresses for a wedding.

The ladies at Baranettes were incredible!! I had been to a few other bridal shoppes in the area before I found Baranettes. I was made to feel welcome and comfortable, not like the other places I went (names not required, you know who you are). I wasn't sure what I was looking for and the ladies there were so helpful, they asked me what I thought was the perfect dress.....my dream dress. They only had to pull a few and I loved them all. Each dress I tried on they selected a veil, let me try on the type of jewelry I was thinking of wearing so I could get the full picture of how I would look on MY special day!!! They really seemed to care and let me take as much time as I needed to decide. When I finally narrowed it down to two dresses they let me try them both on again. By the time I was done I had found THE PERFECT dress, I knew it was perfect cause when I looked over at my mother she was tearing up!! My overall experience at Baranettes was a memorable one and I thank the ladies there from the bottom of my heart for making my special day even more magnificent!!!
I would recommend Baranettes to EVERYONE!! If you want spectacular, friendly, knowledgable people to assist you in finding YOUR perfect wedding gown, Baranettes is the place to go.
I will never forget how personable you all were, from helping me select my gown, calling me as soon as my gown came in (cause you know how excited I was) to helping my bridesmaides and mother select the perfect dress for them!!
P.S. Please thank the seamstress's as well, all the dresses fit PERFECT and we looked gorgeous!!!!!

I could have purchased my gown from an establishment closer to my home or job, but I decided to travel 2 hours to Baranette's for a variety of reasons. The staff are professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. Dawn and her staff are awesome! I never felt rushed or ignored during my shopping experience. I visited a large number of shops around the Maryland/Pennsylvania area and, by far, Baranette's stood out from the rest. I highly recommend them!!!

Baranette's Bridal Shoppe is the best place to get your wedding dress, bridesmaids, flower girls, and even the tuxedos for the groomsmen (one stop shopping in one store). After checking a couple of other places, I'm so glad that I found Baranette's Bridal. The place is awesome, the staff are amazing, very knowledgeable and helpful and they go the extra mile to make your feel comfortable and important. Even all the groomsmen were very impressed! The prices are very reasonable and the selection AMAZING! Thanks Baranette's Staff for all you did. I couldn't have done it without you!
I highly recommend going to Baranette's, you wouldn't be disappointed!

My dress did not come in when promised. When it came in, it was the wrong size and Dawn offered to alter it for me. From a 18 to a 10. I don't think so. Their idea of a discount for my troubles was $30 off of almost $400 in alterations. No thanks. I wish I could do it over without that aggravation and the lies.

Dawn and her staff,
Thank you very much for handling my son's wedding . My daughter in law looked beautiful in her gown. Everyone made her fittings and appointment go so smoothly. It seemed effortless for everyone at the shoppe. The bridesmaids also looked great as my grandchildren and oh, don't forget me. I loved my black gown and will be able to wear it again. Thanks for everything. You made the wedding very special for all of us.
