Aside from the fact this venue is ridiculously gorgeous, it was a real pleasure working with the team here and it made my overall wedding planning experience so easy and stress free. I booked the Tribute House on the spot because I had planned weddings before and knew exactly what to look for. I wanted a venue where I had a list of caterers to choose from, an option to have the ceremony there as well, and for it to be easy for my guests to get to. My ceremony was on the lawn, and the pictures looked amazing. Also, as opposed to having your wedding in center city, having it slightly outside of the city was so perfect because the Tribute House has a big parking lot where people can just pull in and park for free. Colette, and Suzette were my contacts and were both so easy to work with and also very thoughtful. I really appreciate the special thought they gave me - for instance, my mom's sunglasses broke and colette mailed the tiny little screw to her a few days later. Also, my wedding was outside of the fireplace season, but it had been a chilly April Saturday and Colette was able to track down some logs and still run the fire for my cocktail hour. I highly recommend The Merion Tribute House for your wedding. The venue photographs stunningly and you'll be working with really good people.

The Merion Tribute house was wonderful. The staff were incredible from beginning to end and the place was simply gorgeous. We got to save a ton on decorations because MTH didn't need any! From the moment our guests walked onto the property, all we could hear were oohs and ahs. Absolutely wonderful.

The Merion Tribute house is a beautiful venue. The only problem that I have is that the dance floor is incredibly small. I would say that it fits 75 people max. My family and friends are dancers so it was really tight. I chose this location before it was remodeled, and I wasn't told about any plans to remodel until I showed up at one of the open houses. I have to admit, most of the changes were upgrades with the exception of the dance floor. The grounds and the house are beautiful and it's a wonderful place for a small wedding of 100 and under, but anything over that will feel crowded. My wedding was for 135 and it was extremely tight, but I have a hard time imagining fitting anymore people in the ballroom. The staff was extremely responsive and flexible with drop offs and rehearsal. My guests raved about the uniqueness of the venue. I loved it because it looks like a castle, and it fit the style of my wedding perfectly.

If you are searching for your dream wedding venue, look no further! If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! The venue is stunning and Colette is amazing to work with. I could not have asked for a better wedding planning experience, or a better wedding day.

I had the most incredible wedding!! We absolutely loved the venue and got a ton of locations. Everything went perfect and we are so glad that we chose this location. I recommend having your ceremony there, as well. It was the perfect, intimate, personal touch to the wedding!

Colette was so helpful, accommodating, and reassuring during the entire year of planning that it really allayed any anxiety and concern that we might have had! The venue is as if you've stepped out of a fairytale and we were thrilled to have it be the location of our happiest of days! We were able to come on site many times to visualize and plan our decorations and lay out. Any questions we had were answered promptly and professionally. Our wedding took place on the hottest day of the summer (105 degrees) so we were able to take advantage of the alternate ceremony location and use the legion room! Truly it was perfect!! It made our ceremony that much more intimate and allowed our guests to hear everything our wonderful officiant said and gave us the feeling that we really were closely surrounded by all of our loved ones! Seeing the landscape, castle-like building, and beautiful gardens as the backdrop for our pictures afterwards, it further reaffirmed that we definitely made the right choice in venues! The new renovations in the ballroom were also such a hit as the carpet, light fixtures, paint, dance floor, and draperies really were able to preserve the classic feel of the room but give it a beautifully updated touch!

we had our reception here 11/10 and it was amazing! literally felt like a castle and the grounds were beautiful with bright fall foliage everywhere. everything ran smoothly, no stress whatsoever. staff was very accomodating letting us drop off supplies throughout the week, letting my parents come and tour the facilitities, setting up meetings with caterers, etc. it really is a beautiful receptions site. i had been concerned about the size when we first booked. we had 100 people and fit easily with tons of room for dancing. easily could have fit more. wonderful place!

The Merion Tribute House was the perfect place for my reception. The stunning Gothic architecture allows for so many photo ops, and, in the off-season, not only is it cheaper, but they have 2 wood burning fireplaces that are lit and tended during the reception! The fires really add a feeling of warmth and familiarity. The layout is great as well, because you can leave the hall with the dancing and talk in the legion room or lounge on the sofa in front of the fireplace for intimate conversation. I was worried about the bar being outside of the main hall, but it worked out well and we STILL had a party on the dance floor!
They have a choice of around 9 different caterers--I went to the open house and they all seemed wonderful. And there was something for almost any price range (at least in the off-season.) In addition, you get to bring your own alcohol, which is a blessing and a curse--you save a LOT on alcohol expenses and get to take the leftovers home with you--but, it's also an extra thing to worry about leading up to the wedding.
But Colette is a pleasure to work with and she and her staff were incredibly accommodating. (They even let you drop everything off the week before you wedding) I didn't have a single bad experience with the Tribute House and recommend it without any reservation. (it's also nice to know that it's a community owned & operated hall, rather than a wedding factory.)

If you are looking for a "castle" like venue - Merion Tribute House is the place! They are extremely affordable (the venue was built by the community in memory of those who died in WWI), with a lot of inventory to choose from in terms of tables and chairs. They do provide their own wedding coordinator for the day of the event so as long as you tell them what is happening when, they will make sure it does! If you have any questions regarding whatever aspect of a wedding - they DO have the answer! I based my decisions on their experience as well as my caterer's - seriously, they make it so easy that you do not need a wedding planner!

We had a wonderful experience with the Tribute House staff. We needed to have our pictures taken before our ceremony at another location, and they were very accomodating. They even offered additional time on later dates at no charge for the continued picture-taking (wasn't needed)

The Merion Tribute House is beautiful inside and out (the grounds are great) with a wonderful historical feeling. It made my wedding feel grand but cozy at the same time because of the architecture and various spaces. Colette Speakman was extremely helpful throughout the process and everyone was very helpful and accommodating.

My exhaustive search for a venue suitable for my vintage travel-inspired wedding reception happily ended upon our visit to the Merion Tribute House. It is unique among historic locations in that the house was built to host events, so that guests aren't divided among separate rooms but can enjoy dinner and dancing together in one space. It also has air conditioning, which was a dealbreaker for me when considering venues for our August wedding. The ballroom could also accommodate our 160 guests, which is difficult to find in an indoor space at a historic location. (This was doubly important when a thunderstorm the day of meant that our ring ceremony was also held in the ballroom). They are also more realistic about the price, in comparison to the exorbitant rates of other historic mansions located in greater Philadelphia. The front rooms are cozy and allowed guests to interact while eating appetizers, with enough room to allow for a makeshift photo booth, guestbook table, entrance display, and gift table. The grounds were well kept, even in late August, and the location is enviable -- tucked away from traffic but still accessible, and with plenty of parking. Between our booking and the wedding, the ballroom underwent a major renovation which freshened the space considerably, even though I wasn't crazy about the chandeliers and actually hate the new cornices on the windows.
The staff worked well with our vendors -- the caterer and the bakery, who work with them regularly, and also our florist and decorator, who hadn't worked with them before. Colette is an exceptional manager; she showed us through multiple times and e-mailed timely notices about the renovation and also when a tree in the front landscape had to be removed. Unfortunately, she was out of town the day of our wedding and my bridesmaids told me that the staff member who replaced her that evening wasn't nearly as competent or helpful. Still, I wouldn't go anywhere else -- Merion Tribute House had it all for me.

I've been all over the world, but this is absolutely one of the most beautiful (semi) historic buildings I've seen. The management takes great care of it, and it is perfect for weddings. It was for mine. I hope to be able to return to visit after they've finished the renovations. They even loaned us materials (hurricane lamps, etc.) to make our centerpieces. They were very helpful. The only comment I'd make is that the day of coordinator wasn't as accessible as I was promised. Next time, I would ask for Randy or Colette, they were on point!

A gorgeous site, helpful staff. We were very happy and received many compliments on how beautiful the location was! I would say that to comfortably have dinner and dancing all together in the ballroom, the max is closer to 125-150. We had just under 100 and it was great - not empty-feeling, with a nice sized dance floor (which was generally full!). Be careful if you are wanting a venue for a crowd larger than 150. For our event it was fantastic and everything went great; the Tribute House staff is practiced in event prep and coordination and helped pull things of without a hitch.

We loved the Merion Tribute House! Did you know that Tina Fey and several Philadelphia Eagles players have gotten married here? It's beautiful both inside and out (since we had a winter wedding, inside was most important to us), an old stone building with working fireplaces and also lovely grounds. Colette was extremely responsive via email with even the smallest questions and concerns, and they let you choose between 10 different caterers at different price points and with different specialties, a flexibility that really meant a lot to us. It's a bit pricey compared to some other venues, but they let you provide your own alcohol, which saves you a ton of money, especially if you go to tax-free Delaware to buy it! The day of the wedding the staff was very helpful and professional, and we couldn't have had a better experience. On top of all this, when we ended up having some problems with our caterer the day of the wedding, Colette and the Tribute House staff really wanted to listen to our issues and be on our side. A great experience overall!

I had my wedding at Merion Tribute House on 8/22/09. It was so beautiful. I have so many guests told me they like the place a lot. We had a ceremony outside. It was absolutely gorgeous. The staff are very helpful too. They help us to plan everything and make sure everything is right. Overall, we are so happy about our decision to go to Merion Tribute House. We love it.
