Occasions in New Hope

We can't say enough wonderful things about Occasions at Union Square. The venue perfectly fit our Halloween themed wedding reception. The staff went out of their way to ensure that we had everything we needed and that all of our guests including the 20 children in attendance felt special. My new husband and I are extremely grateful to everyone at Memorable Affairs. They made our day amazing!

We would love to thank you Memorable Affairs for making our wedding at Occasions an extraordinary event on October 1, 2011. We are still receiving compliments from our guests! The food, service and location were all exquisite!Cathy with Memorable Affairs made every bit of planning easy for us. All the preparation was evident on our wedding day. Every last detail was met and executed without flaw. The staff was attentive and kind to our guests, meeting all their needs without being overbearing or intrusive. Their professionalism was without equal. The entire day – from ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and on – flowed without interruption due to their effort and execution.Memorable Affairs is truly in a league of its own!

After a destination wedding, we hosted a cocktail reception (about 230 people, heavy hors d'oeuvres and stations) for our friends and family. We first discovered Memorable Affairs when we researched Bucks County museums to have our event. The museums were too small, and Jack at Memorable Affairs suggested we look at their own facility, Occasions, in New Hope.Thanks to that suggestion, we had a simply perfect wedding reception!Cathy is the planner, and Cathy is just amazing. I cannot tell you how smoothly everything went. First, Cathy understood the somewhat unusual nature of the event we were having, and immediately worked to make it happen for us. (Several other places tried to talk us out of the free flowing event we were trying to have, no matter how many times I objected to a sit down dinner!) She listened to us and used her creative magic to make it happen, exactly as we wanted! Placement of the tables were perfected for the flow... she reviewed our choices of food to suit it more perfectly for our event. She is funny and clearly loves what she does -- she made the process so much less stressful than most weddings tend to be.On the day of the reception, my husband and I arrived to help set up and decorate and quickly realized we were completely not needed. Cathy and her outstanding team of employees had it covered -- in fact, she had added several touches that brought out the destination-theme of our event, and for which she did not charge us. Everything looked GORGEOUS!The food was divine. For weeks after our event, so many of our guests raved about the food (which included 11 of the most delicious passed hors d'oeuvres-- ever, shrimp, California rolls, pasta bar, slider bar, international cheese display, and much more). No one left hungry, and everyone raved!We had an open bar. The drinks were perfectly mixed, and the bartenders kept up with the crowd without any delay. The servers were friendly, and no one was ever ignored -- somehow, the servers managed to get passed food out to everyone, spanning across three rooms. Really great!We couldn't be happier. We intend to have more events at Occasions, both personal and for our businesses. I've hosted several business events in many of the most celebrated venues in the Bucks and Montgomery areas, and I can honestly say this was the best experience I've ever had.Thank you, Cathy, and to your wonderful staff for making our wedding reception memorable, for making the venue warm and welcoming, and for sharing our vision and our joy for the most important event of our lives.

We were looking for a venue that was a little more modern and less traditional than many reception venues, and Occasions really fit the bill. Cathy was great to work with and helped figure out the details of the day. The food was amazing and all of our guests commented about how pleased they were with their meals. I really loved the courtyard area and was really looking forward to having our cocktail hour out there. Unfortunately, Mother Nature did not want that to happen and it was too rainy on our wedding day. The cocktail hour still worked out fine in the bar area and the cocktail room. Occasions made the best of the not so great weather. It was an amazing reception and we loved having it at Occasions. If you are looking for a venue that is a little different and has some personality, then take a look at Occasions!

Cathy and staff at Occasions in New Hope did an AMAZING job at our wedding this weekend! They were so attentive to us and our guests the entire night. They took our vision and made it a beautiful dream come true. The food was amazing!!!! We can't say enough good things about them!

I had a wonderful experience working with Pat, Jack and Cathy at Occasions in New Hope. I had many questions and typical bride concerns and every questions was answered immediately and every concern was addressed. Our reception went off without a hitch and the best part was hearing from guests and also through the grapevine how wonderful of an evening it was. The food was top notch (I chose the crabcake and beef tenderloin) and the wedding cake received rave reviews. I am so happy I decided to have my reception at Occasions. I definitely recommend Occasions to any bride who is not looking for a stuffy reception but rather a relaxed party with a cool vibe.

Absolutely perfect! We would highly recommend Occasions to anyone looking for a wedding reception venue. Cathy and the entire staff were professional, flexible, and always quick to respond to our questions during the planning. We got married a few weeks ago and are still hearing compliments about the food, drinks, and wonderful atmosphere. Our guests especially loved how when they arrived there was a beer and wine station set up outside in the courtyard. That was a really nice extra touch, as people were able to sit outside in the courtyard or go inside to the bar and art gallery rooms during cocktail hour. If you are looking for a unique venue, this is your place. It fit our contemporary style, since we wanted something a bit different and more modern than a traditional large ballroom. Also, the price for what is included can't be beat, especially for the New Hope location!

We thought that Occasions was in a great location and had reasonable prices. We liked that the venue was in New Hope which allowed guests plenty of places to stay the night. When we first met Jack, the owner of memorable affairs, we felt very comfortable with him. He listened to us and we did a survey to gauge what is important to us in a venue. His wife and him were very flexible for helping to plan the wedding's special details. They were also both very prompt in getting back to us with all of our questions leading up to the big day.The day of the wedding my husband and I were surprised that we had someone helping only us the first few hours of the reception. She brought us hors d oeuvres and cocktails to a secluded room during cocktail hour so we could get some alone time and unwind without all of the guests for 10 minutes. She even went on a search to find one of the groomsman who had my slippers so I could change my shoes. She was great. The reception hall fit our 10 piece band without a problem and everyone had a blast. Everyone loved the food, we had salmon and chicken. My salmon was awesome. My chicken was really pink when I cut into it and I tried to find someone to make them aware but was not able to until everyone ate. I was really worried that other people might have had the same chicken I was given but no one said anything to me. This situation really upset me. The only other thing I would have liked at the venue would have been for them to put the left over cake in cake bags or napkins for people to take. They put huge chunks on a table in a tray. We ended up coming home with a lot of cake and giving it to neighbors, etc. Everyone loved the cake.

Everything for our wedding at Occasions was wonderful. I felt as thought we were taken care of and our needs were more than met. The food was amazing and so was the service. Our friends and family were more than pleased. Thank you again for a beautiful, memorable wedding!!

Jack and his entire staff were a pleasure to work with, and they made it very easy for us to have exactly the wedding we wanted. Our guests are still raving about the food and the service, and our wedding was seven months ago.

Occasions is a strange venue. Okay party space in New Hope's Union Square, but may be wise to chose elsewhere if you desire any outdoor space.

We wanted a simple site in a good location. We knew New Hope would be ideal for overnight guests to entertain themselves during their wedding visit, and Occasions has the fun, contemporary elegance we were looking for. The on-site art gallery was a nice cocktail-hour plus for our guests, the vast majority of whom either make or appreciate art. The outdoor amphitheater-like courtyard is contained, and a great place for child and adult guests to take a breather during the party. Everyone loved Occasions, loved the delicious food and appreciated the spot-on staff, who are exclusive to the catering company Memorable Affairs. They were amenable to our special requests and patient with the inevitable craziness. I can't say enough good things about them. You'd be crazy not to go with these people.
