Charlotte and her staff were wonderful to work with! The food was amazing, the staff friendly, and the linens were beautiful! Was there for me and anything I needed at all. Couldn't have picked a better caterer!

Everything went so well for my wedding. Charlotte worked with me on every detail and it went flawlessly. Everyone complimented the food and the wait staff. They were professional and accommodating. I had a couple guests with special dietary needs and the staff went out of their way to provide them with food that they could eat. I asked for a few items on the menu to be made to meet their needs but the staff made sure that almost everything on the menu met their needs. It was a pleasure working with Charlotte, even through all the stress of making sure everything was perfect!

Charlotte was absolutley delightful to work with. She responded usually within mintutes of an email and was always helpful when I asked her for suggestions on how to save money elsewhere. Her staff was wonderful and pleasant on the day of the wedding, and very helpful in ways we weren't expecting. We were on a very tight budget, and they accomodated that wonderfully.

Rhein's Classic Catering is an amazing team! From the very beginning working with Charlotte was a true pleasure; from creating a vision for our wedding to the actual wedding day, I knew we selected the perfect caterer/event planner for us. The food was delicious with a beautiful presentation and we have been receiving compliments nonstop on how perfect and organized the entire event was. The staff was very professional and responsive to our every need. We were working with a smaller budget and Charlotte was more than accomodating to our requests. Charlotte worked with me through every step of the planning process to make sure it was the wedding we were imagining..and BY FAR it was! I wish we could do it all over again and I know our guests feel the exact same way! Much thanks for all of your expertise, vendor suggestions, delicious food, fantastic staff and for your help in creating our absolutely perfect wedding day.

Absolutely worst business I had to deal with in the whole wedding process. Both friends and family read and listened to the messages received from Charlotte (the owner)and all thought she had no idea what she was doing. I was quoted differently twice and had to go back and find our original quote and show it to her since she was giving me a total $400 more then original. Don't expect a break down of what everything costs because you won't get one. After awhile my maid of honor had to get involved and after talking to her more then 3 times Charlotte had no idea who she was! She seemed perfect upon our initial meeting but after that it went downhill fast. With all the good reviews out there I can only come to the conclusion that since she is older her age and health may be starting to affect her work. Sounds terrible I know but I really think this is whats happening. Was not worth the stress of dealing with her even if the food was OKAY (still way overpriced though).

Rhein's Classic Catering did a wonderful job at our wedding. Charlotte was great and helpful throughout the entire process. She was more than just a "vendor", I consider her to be a friend now. The food was absolutely delicious and more than what we expected! Given the small space provided to Charlotte at our wedding (it was literally the size of a closet), her staff was able to go above and beyond what we expected. I had no worries the day of my wedding, which is exactly what I wanted! Rhein's pricing was fabulous for the value of what we received as well. I would HIGHLY recommend Rhein's Classic Catering to anyone who is looking to have their event catered by professionals! Thank you Charlotte, Keith and the Rhein's Catering staff for a wonderful day that I will remember always!

Our experience with Rhein's Classic Catering was positive from the first meeting to the close of the reception. Charlotte was extremely flexible and listened to everything my daughter wanted. We gave her our budget and she worked with it. She organized many aspects of the wedding day, such as the DJ,who was great, and the transportation service for the out of town guests. She also found the hotel in our area for our guests. The vendors Charlotte recommended were courteous and prompt. Party Central's Lisa was wonderful and the tent designer, Mickey Nagle, was so much fun to have around, we hated to see him go. The draping he did in our tent was stuning! The most amazing part of the entire experience was the wait staff. They could not have been more courteous or helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. They lite candles and sparklers and moved lanterns; when it got cold they put up tent sides. They were wonderful. The food was good, but we could have used more. Not everyone got to try everything they wanted. We probably should have ordered more. Dinner was also served rather late in the evening. This was due to the limo service arriving 1/2 hour late to the hotel to pick up the guests. Overall the day was a huge success. Everyone was happy, most importantly my daughter and new son-in-law. A good time was had by all and I would recommend Charlotte's services to any bride.

I had the absolute pleasure of working with Charlotte from Rhein's Classic Catering. I was in search of a reasonably-priced caterer for our wedding at the Brandywine Manor House to help offset some costs and we were delighted when we found Rhein's Classic Catering. Their prices were the best by FAR of all the caterers we researched and Charlotte is able to work within whatever size budget you have.
Charlotte worked with us to customize our food choices (the options were literally endless), she was incredibly responsive, very organized, and helped bring to light all of the little details that I didn't think of. On the day of the wedding Mary and the wait staff were just AWESOME!!! They were so incredibly professional and went above and beyond in every aspect. If you are in search of a caterer for any event, I wouldn't second-guess using Rhein's Classic Catering. You can truly customize your menu from start to finish while staying within your budget and Charlotte and her staff will help to make sure your day is perfect!!

On my wedding day, my biggest concern was that I wanted my guests to have a good time...but that I wanted to enjoy it, too! Not only is Charlotte EXTREMELY reasonably priced (not much markup over cost, from what I could tell), she was a calming presence throughout my entire wedding planning process, up to the day of. My wedding was in very good hands, and I felt this way from the day I met Charlotte. The food was DEISH -- all our guests were very happy with our meal choices. And although I wanted to have a worry-free day, I did want to have my own personal touches as well (for example, I made the table numbers and centerpieces), which all ended up beautifully put together by Charlotte and her team. Her professionalism, experience and honesty helped make my wedding day dreams come true. When I was frazzled about details, she calmed my nerves, assured me I would have a great day, and came through on that promise.

Based on weddingwire reviews, we chose Rhein's Catering for our May wedding just a few weeks ago. I've been in close and constant contact with Charlotte, the catering manager, for the past 9 months during the planning process. She worked with our budget and provided a wonderful meal for our guests. Many guests commented on how good the food was at cocktail hour and dinner. Rhein's staff was very professional and were very accommodating with meeting our needs for setting up our property for cocktail hour and dinner. We had our wedding at our home, so we needed alot of extra help with the dinner and cocktail hour setup; and Charlotte's team did not disappoint. We were very pleased with the service that was provided and we'd highly recommend her company to other friends and family. The only hiccup we encountered was regarding staffing costs; there was a big discrepancy between the estimated and actual staffing costs, and this created a little confusion on our part. However, once the costs were all broken down, it was easier to understand. Ideally, if we had initially been given an estimated RANGE for the estimated costs, it may have made it easier for us to plan more accordingly from a financial standpoint.

My experience with Rhein's Catering was fantastic! Charlotte has a plethora of knowledge since she has been in the business for so long! She was extremely helpful from the very first meeting and very willing to work with us to fit our price range and our tastes for the menu.
On the day of the wedding, it was raining and a lot of things had to be changed around. From what I heard, her staff members were able to adapt and the moment I walked in the door, it look spectacular! I would have never known that 10-20 minutes before that, people we running around and scrambling to make everything amazing! The staff were very flexible and even used some special touches I provided to make the day more personal!
The food was fantastic...try the meatballs!!
I couldn't have gotten through the whole wedding experience without pulling my hair out if it wasn't for Charlotte and all of her assistance! Countless meetings whether it was in person, or over the phone, were always welcome and never a bother! I was extremely satisfied!!! :)

We hired Rhein's Classic Catering for our wedding in April 2011. We had our wedding at the GoggleWorks and she came highly recommended both through GoggleWorks, friends and other vendors. So we felt that we were guaranteed a great experience. We first met with Charlotte at Off the Avenue where her son runs the restaurant. We had a great tasting, the food was delicious and prices were reasonable.
However, things only went south from there. About 2-3 weeks before our wedding, Charlotte sent us the proposal and changed the price on us 3 times, with the labor charge about $200 more than originally quoted. Each time we inquired about the change, the price kept increasing.  We had to finally call her and talk to her before she took the responsibility for the price changes.   We were also put-off by the fact that she was CC'ing our florist with our emails, as she cited that she likes to keep other vendors abreast of what is happening. We both knew that there is absolutely no reason for the florist to be made aware of these issues, because he was only providing the bouquets and not providing any set up for the day of the wedding.
We felt uneasy proceeding with her company, but since she was so highly recommended, we both decided that no matter what, the quality of service & food would be met, despite our dealings with her.Â
However, on the day of the wedding, we found that to not be case. The food that was served was different than our contract. We ordered kabobs and during our tasting they were fully grilled. However, for the wedding, Charlotte claimed that she grilled the food, but after you steam it, all grill marks disappear.  It wasn't until after the wedding she admitted that the food was lightly grilled at the cafe and then steamed on site. Who serves 90% steamed food for a wedding?
We do realize that not everything will go perfect nor will the food be as amazing as the tasting, but having our families and guests complain about the food at the wedding was not acceptable. We had made a suggestion to Charlotte to make up for the non-delivery of the contracted services, but she was not interested in responding to our grievances in that way. Her only concession to us was claiming she did not charge us $700 for her own fee and certain equipment fees, as she usually charges other couples.  We were unaware of these charges until after the wedding, and it was implied that we owed her a 'thank-you' for waiving these hidden costs.
Her conduct and dealings were unprofessional, she does not stand behind her product or contracts, and we would highly warn any bride to hire her for their wedding. Â Please choose this company with great caution!
In response to Charlotte:
We, at Rhein's Classic Catering welcome all reviews both good and bad. However when wrongly accused we must defend our company. First off, we would like to say that among the many reviews we have received that this is our first negative review.
After meeting initially with our client we put her in contact with other vendors that assist us with weddings. She fully planned the bar with our approved bartender, and cancelled her and had a friend do it.
*This is entirely FALSE, we NEVER had a contract with this bartender. Her bartender made assumptions when all we were doing is inquiring about prices and what was included. Another example of how she and her vendors do not operate based upon contracts.
She met with our suggested baker and backed out and ordered pies.
*I never met with this baker, nor was she recommended by Charlotte. I only emailed with her. We had on order a $100 cake which really wouldn't make a difference to this baker either way and she did not make an issue for canceling the order. Because Charlotte's labor was much higher than expected, we had to cut out our wedding cake.
She met with the florist and minimized her order.
*I met with this florist and had only hired him to do bouquets/corsages, etc and only inquired about prices to do other items. I never agreed to have him do any other parts of the wedding, but needed to know whether it could be done at a reasonable price. Of which he claimed Baby's Breath centerpieces would costs hundreds of dollars.
She ordered the rentals and the day before she had the rental company remove the already setup chairs because she didn't like the color and used the ones provided by the venue.
*We had these taken back because there were rust marks, stains and NOT the style of chair that I thought we had asked for. We understood that we made the change and were at fault, so we bit the cost because she delivered it for us. She offered us $100 back, but she basically profited about $250 for delivering and removing chairs, which we felt was fair.
In regards to the labor cost. The client asked for an estimate on the labor cost. Based on our experience with setup and cleanup we estimated it a little high to cover anything unexpected.
* We have yet to see the break down of the labor costs, as was promised. It is 2 weeks since the end of our wedding. Also, no refund as promised. 34% labor/gratuity charge is pretty high in my opinion.
Her friend who was in charge of cleanup asked our people to stay and help her clean up. If you have had or are having a wedding, an estimate within $200.00 is pretty close when you have 12 people working a full wedding. She also wanted an estimate on the food. She had several options to choose from. We figured out the estimate based on the highest priced item because if everyone ordered that item the cost would be higher. Not everyone did so she was charged accordingly, hence the fluctuations.
*Again, this is also false, I sent Charlotte a full break down of how many people and who was ordering what menu. I got back one email with one price, 20 minutes later, the price increased about $1-$2 per plate. I asked why and it increased about another $2.
Now the food. She was in for the tasting and loved everything. We prepared the food at our facility and transported it to the Goggleworks. Again, she had a friend in charge of the timeline to save on labor cost. They were 45 minutes late in eating. We had to keep the food hot in warming boxes for that time. Warming boxes will create steam. Her food was not steamed initiallly.
*It shocks us to this day that she stands behind the food she served. And her story behind how the food was prepared keeps changing. The skewers on our kabobs had no signs of burn marks, nor any sign of grilling. Yes we were behind schedule, but show me a wedding that starts perfectly on time. The issues with the food were completely beyond the timing, it was the ingredients of the food that were different that contracted. Charlotte still will not admit for her fault in this matter.
The client was concerned with costs. The facility the wedding was held at does not have a kitchen. When booked the customer needs to cover the cost of all equipment to properly cater the wedding. She was never charged for the equipment because we were far into the planning and she was on a budget. She asked for a significant refund for these issues. She also stated that her guests and other vendors were unhappy with the food. The photographer told us personally how professional we were and how well things were done. Also we noted that the plates came back clean from the guests.
*From day one we had kabobs on our menu choice and was never disclosed of any fees related to equipment rentals. This was never mentioned during our tasting or our emails. Only a phone conversation 2 weeks prior to the event. Completely unprofessional.
In closing we spent a lot of time emailing back and forth with the bride to make sure her day went perfectly. She sent us 104 emails with changes and questions. We feel we did our best under the circumstances and feel sorry that she didn't feel that way.
*I'm sorry, but you are in a business to help people, if email is the way a client prefers to communicate - so be it. We have the right, as you have made no attempt to make things right to voice our experience with you, which still remains to this day the most negative experience during my whole wedding experience.

Rhein's catering helped make our wedding day the best day of our life! From the moment of hire, they were extremely responsive and flexible. On the wedding day, it poured, the outside wedding had to be moved inside which affected their set up. Charlotte and staff transformed the ceremony space into reception area without the wedding party and family even noticing what was happening. We've gotten a lot of feedback saying the food was delicious. The staff took such great care of our guests that they even specially delivered station food to a guest on crutches to ensure that he was comfortable and taken care of. Another staff member helped me (the bride) climb the steps to gather some reception goodies. Their attention to detail with decorations, the cake cutting, supporting the bride and groom was just wonderful. We are 100% happy with their service and feel they truly went above and beyond their duties!
