Having SAS Cupcakes instead of wedding cake was one of the first decisions we made. Unlike most wedding cake we have had at friends' weddings, the cupcakes taste so good! We did a tasting at SAS and had a lot of fun, everyone was very helpful. At the reception, after we cut our cupcake, our guests were invited to choose the cupcake they wanted. We also provided small square boxes for guests who wanted to dance the night away and bring their cupcake home instead of eat it at the reception. We rented the stand from SAS and it looked really great with all 10 dozen cupcakes on it. The price was also very reasonable compared to the cost of wedding cakes. We asked for just the regular cupcakes to come as they are. SAS asked if we wanted the frosting to match our wedding colors, but I love the individual look of the cupcakes just as the come. Our guests are still talking about the cupcakes, and our wedding was over a month ago.
These are, by far, the best cupcakes that I have ever tasted! They are amazingly rich and flavorful, and the variety of flavors they come in is comparable to none! For my wedding, my colors were chocolate and sage, and so we were able to display the cupcakes on a tiered, square stand, each level being a different color. Our flavors were chocolate/chocolate icing, vanilla/vanilla, choc/vanilla, vanilla/choc, red velvet/cream cheese icing, red velvet/choc icing, kahlua, choc/peanutbutter icing, triple chocolate, and mint chocolate chip. They also wrapped matching ribbon around the different tires of my colors as well. We received a discount on cupcakes because we were buying more than 10 dozen, as well. But, all else aside, I got such rave reviews from my guests about the cupcakes that I would recommend them in an instant! Besides the fact that having cupcakes was cheaper than buying a whole giant wedding cake, they also look beautiful in pictures because they're elegantly decorated as well. The only thing that I would recommend is to put out a note to stop your guests from getting into them before the appropriate time-I made that mistake, and by time we went to 'cut the cake' and take pictures, 1/2 of them were gone! But, I guess that says something about how delicious they were!
